Steven Spielberg's science-fiction hit Minority Report will get a TV reboot
The follow-up to the 2002 release will be set 10 years on from the events of the film and the show will have a female lead. Minority Report was loosely based on a Philip K Dick short story set in Washington DC in 2054. It starred Tom Cruise as a Precrime detective working with Precogs who can see the future to help him stop crimes before they are committed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter a pilot for the new show is being developed by 20th Century Fox Television in partnership with Paramount and Spielberg's Amblin Television. Godzilla writer Max Borenstein has been hired to write a story that begins after the Precrime project is axed.
Plot details reveals that the film is one of the three Precogs struggles to lead a 'normal' human life, but remains haunted by visions of the future. He meets a detective haunted by her past who just may help him find a purpose to his gift."
Paramount Television is reported to also be planning a new small-screen take on the Terminator franchise and Jim Carrey film The Truman Show. Minority Report also starred Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton.
