She Rocks Our World...Genie Nnaji

Genevieve Nnaji was born on the 3rd of May 1979 in Mbaise,  Imo state Nigeria to Eng and Mrs Nnaji. She is the fourth of eight children.
Genny grew up in lagos, Nigeria and attended Methodist Girls College,Yaba, Lagos before heading on to the University of Lagos. She started her career at a young age of eight in a television soap opera 'Ripples' and commercials of products like Omo detergent and Pronto beverage. In 1998, at the age of 19, she was introduced into the Nigeria film industry with the movie 'Most Wanted'. Genevieve has starred in over 80 Nollywood movies and has also gotten so many awards among which are the Best Actress of the year award at the 2001 City People Award, the Best Actress on a leading role at the African Movie Academy Award and many more.

As an actress, musician, model, Brand Ambassador, owner of a successful clothing line and a single mother of an eighteen years old daughter Genevieve is indeed a rare gem. As a philanthropist she donates part of the income from her clothing line to charity. No wonder she is called the Julia Roberts of Africa. In 2009, our own Gene was the first Nigerian actress to be profiled on the Opera Winfery Show in an episode 'Meet the most famous people in the world'.  Gene continues to fascinate her fans and is believed to be the highest paid and most desired actress in Nollywood today.
